Dr Sonali Kohli, Consultant Dermatologist at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai, explains that aluminium foil can help reduce frizz, especially static-induced frizz. “The method involves running a piece of aluminum foil over the hair, which helps to smoothen the strands and reduce flyaways,” says Dr Kohli.

This method is effective because it targets static electricity in the hair, a common cause of frizz. “Static in hair typically results from friction from brushing, wearing hats, or even environmental factors like low humidity. Aluminium, as a metal and a good conductor, helps neutralise this static charge,” Dr Kohli adds.

While using aluminium foil to reduce frizz is generally safe, there are some considerations:
